When I went shopping I stopped at a box full of puppies that someone was giving away, peeked in and the saw the quietest pair of brown eyes look back at me, it was an instant connection. Stevie was so little and frail I thought she would die if I left her there. I decided to give that puppy the best life I possible could.
She lived 11 years and it was full of comedy, comfort and friendship. In our life together Stevie taught me loyalty and friendship. She was my best friend and protector. she changed my life just by being there beside me. I could never be cross or angry, she was too smart for her own good and was always looking to make me laugh and look at her. She was impossible to ignore.
She died after a long illness in early December and I'm still broken up over it, I entered this contest not for the prize money but to let everyone know who reads this that Stevie was my best friend and I will always love her as much as she loved me.
