SSD Pearl
Crystal and SSD Pearl
For 2 years now I've had the honor of raising SSD Pearl. One of the things Pearl has taught me is the importance of taking "breaks" from everyday life (of course if I left it up to Pearl, we'd take breaks all day). She's quite the layed back girl !!! From the day I picked Pearl up at Baltimore Airport I started working with her. She's always been easy to train, which I found as one of the most rewarding hobbies I could have asked for. Before I knew it I was waking up early to have playtime, taking breaks and lunches at work, doing enjoyable things in the evenings (of course we called them training opportunities), and just having fun! I guess you can consider Pearl a type of balance dog - she balances my work and play (or is that her work and play?). The biggest change that Pearl has made though is in my daughter's life. I see now a teenager growing into a confident young lady. With leash in hand and Pearl by her side she with pride will go into aisles of a store on her own, hold a conversation with a stranger (about the dog-s only probably), and go to the public library for homework research. We jokingly kid her that she'll have to have to find a college that allows pets or she's doomed in a few years ![]()
