Malta
Edie and Malta
I was a Pharmaceutical Rep. until one day about 2 1/2 years ago I went catatonic for a brief period of time. That was the end of my career and the beginning of my nightmare. I started having more episodes of going catatonic for longer periods of time and the episodes were followed by amnesia. After being hospitalized for a week I was diagnosed with Conversion Disorder triggered by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I went to months of Therapy and was on heavy doses of Antidepressants. My Therapist recommended that I get a Registered Service Dog. I got Malta, a Teacup Maltese, when she was 8 weeks old. She was trained and registered. We go everywhere together. When I would have my episodes, Malta shortened the episodes from about 40 minutes down to about 8-12 minutes. She also was imperative in me regaining my memory after the episodes. I have known my husband for over 17 years and Malta for over 2. However, Malta is who I remember first. Apparently, my husband gives me Malta to hold when I go Catatonic and holding her shortens the episodes. I have been able to get my Drivers License back due to Malta and I no longer take any drugs related to the episodes. I count strictly on Miracle Malta. I THANK GOD everyday for the little 5 lbs of blessing.
