Opal
Edward and Opal
After being in the Army for five years I went back to work with the Department of Defense I served in a lot of countries, including Kosovo, Bosnia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait,Afghanistan,Iraq Just to name a few.One day the government decided I had to much health problems from gunshot wounds, High Blood Pressure, and Diabetes just to name a few. Serving my country for most of my life and then being put on 100 per cent disability was a lot for me to handle. With a little help from some doctors The said I should get a dog to help me takemy mind of all the things I seen and did in the War. One day in a bad snow storm My wife saw an add in a paper selling Australian shepherd puppies and they would be ready to go that day. so off to the country we went. When we saw the puppies there was a little Merle one with one blue eye. she looked out of place there so she came home with us.I have had her for over a year now. she travels with us all over the U.S.A. in our 36 foot R.V. and she loves It. I spend all my time with her 24-7 she is with me. She has gone to K-9 korner dog training school. I never leave her alone and she even sleeps with me at the bottom of the bed. I talk to her more then anyone else. She has helped me so many ways. She can tell when I'm thinking about something bad and she makes me take her out side. She wakes me when I'm having bad dreams about the war.She keeps her eyes on me all the time never letting me out of her site. I'm starting Therapy training with her so we can visit the Veterans Hospitals accross the U.S.A. She loves to play In the sand and Snow. she loves other dogs and has met Hundreds accross the states In every R.V. park and people always say how great she Is. she just loves everyone. Thanks for listening to this story I wish you could meet her.
