Forrest
Lisa and Forrest
When I went to Guide Dogs for the Blind I wasnt sure what to expect when Forrest and I returned home. I had my independance taken from me two years prior and depended alot on my Mom and my daughter for rides and shopping and many other activities that I had always taken for granted.I had stopped doing so many things and felt very much like a hermit. Forrest and I fit very well together soon as we met. He was big, slobbery and very loving. Upon arriving home everyone said he never takes his eyes off of you and he still doesnt. Forrest and I set out right away a learned our bus routes, shopping and every activity I wanted to do he was there at my side. Camping, boating and Dr. appointments. He doesnt care as long as he is included. I went from sitting at home and feeling sorry for my self for 2 years since I couldnt drive, to going everyplace and any place. My mom was diagnosed with Cancer and she said I needed to go get the guided dog so that I could be independant, as she knew she wouldnt be there for me, Forrest and I have gone to every chemo and Dr. appointment with my mom all year, and he has taken to keeping a close watch on my mom as well. Forrest gave me my life back,He gave me independace and happiness. He has touched everyones life in my family, besides watching mom, he keeps watch on my son who suffers from seizures. He brings a smile to the faces of Drs. an nurses and the patients durring chemo. I cant picture my life without him, he is my friend, my companion, and I trust my life to him each time we venture out. Iam not scared anymore, with him I know I can do anything, Iam not alone in my fight with blindness or MD anymore. I thank God for Guide Dogs for the Blind and for Forrest every day. Forrest Has changed my entire life, my heart, and my family and friends lives for ever. Thank you Forrest, I love you.
