Josie

Rhonda and Josie

My son Christopher was injured four years ago in a MVA. He became a quadraplegic at the scene. Of course, he underwent months of therapy which also included therapy at home. Christopher's favorite dog was Josiemarie a mix Jack Russell Terrier. She loved sitting on his lap and would appear as though she were watching every move therapy made in working with his arms and hands. Christopher was soon able to manage to lift his arms to stroke Josie from head to tail. Josie quickly decided she needed to help him with his thearpy. When Christopher's arms would tire from rubbing her, she would jump up to softly bite him on the nose, until he would continue rubbing her again. Christopher passed away in April of last year. Josie shared in mourning our loss. When I whisper Christopher's name in her ear, our little therapy dog begins to wag her tail and jumps up to bite me on the nose. The bond shared between the two of them was remarkable.
