Caleb

Caleb is a career-change dog from Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael, CA. We adopted Caleb on March 14, 2009. Caleb was 8 months old at that time. He had been career-changed due to an injury to his knee. My brother in law is a vet, so he was able to fix Caleb up without any surgery, and Caleb's injury did not turn out to be as bad as it was originally thought to be. Caleb is a wonderful dog who has brought so much joy to the lives of our entire family. He is sweet, loving, and always wants to play. We also have an older labrador, Chloe, who is almost 14. Chloe had a vestibular attack and was near death in early 2009 before we got Caleb, and now it is like she has a new lease on life. They love and play with each other all of the time. I have suffered with chronic fatigue over this past year, but everytime I see Caleb, I am instantly energized. Adopting Caleb has been such a reward. Because of Caleb's training, as Guide Dogs are raised with people and other dogs so they are very social, I know that once Chloe passes on, I would adopt another career change dog from Guide Dogs for the Blind as soon as I could.
